July 28th, 2019 by Teagan

There is a captivating history to the Cambodia gambling dens that lie just over the border from next door Thailand, in which gambling hall gambling is not legal. Eight gambling dens are based in a relatively small area in the municipality of Poipet in Cambodia. This group of Cambodia casinos is in a perfect spot, a 3 to four hour travel from Bangkok and Macao, the 2 biggest gambling centers in Asia. Cambodia gambling halls do a thriving business with Thai laborers and guests from Malaysia, Japan, South Korea, and Singapore, with just a couple of Westerners. The amazing capital gained from the gambling halls ranges from seven and a half million dollars to over twelve and a half million dollars, and there are a couple of restrictions requirements for gambling den ownership. Ownership is assumed to be largely Thai; however, investment sources are ambiguous. The borders are officially open from 0900 to 1700, and although visas are supposedly required to cross, there are methods around this, as is correct of many borders.

The 1st Cambodia casinos opened in Phnom Penh in the mid nineties, but were required to close in the late nineties, leaving just one casino in the capital, the Naga Resort. The Naga, a docked bateau gambling den, highlights 150 slot machines and sixty tables. The Naga gambling hall never closes with forty two tables of mini-baccarat banque, four tables of vingt-et-un, ten of roulette, 2 of Caribbean Stud Poker, and one each of Pai-Gow and Tai-Sai.

The original gambling hall in Poipet, the Holiday Palace, opened in 1999 and the Golden Crown before long opened. There are 150 one armed bandits and 5 table games at the Golden Crown and one hundred and four one armed bandits and sixty eight table games at the Holiday Palace. The latest Holiday Palace Casino and Resort features three hundred slot machines and seventy table games and the Princess Hotel and Casino, also in Poipet, has one hundred and sixty six slot machines and ninety six gaming tables, including 87 baccarat banque (the most beloved game), Fan Tan, and Pai Gow. Additionally, there is the Casino Tropicana, with one hundred and thirty five slots and 66 of the common tables, as well as one table of Casino Stud Poker. Another one of the 8 gambling dens in Poipet, again in a hotel, is the Princess Casino with 166 slots and 97 games. The Star Vegas Casino is part of an all-inclusive vacation and hotel complex that contains many comforts aside from the gambling hall, which provides ten thousand sq.ft. of 130 slot machines and 88 tables.
