Cambodia Gambling Halls

There is an interesting history to the Cambodia gambling halls that reside just across the border from nearby Thailand, where casino betting is not permitted. Eight gambling halls are established in a relatively small location in the city of Poipet in Cambodia. This conclave of Cambodia gambling halls is in a prime area, a three to four hour drive from Bangkok and Macao, the two largest gaming locations in Asia. Cambodia gambling dens do a thriving business with Thai laborers and travelers from Malaysia, Japan, South Korea, and Singapore, with just a few Westerners. The phenomenal income accrued from the casinos ranges from $7.5 million to more than 12.5 million dollars, and there are couple of controls constraints for gambling den ownership. Ownership is assumed to be mainly Thai; still, financial sources are vague. The borders are ceremoniously open from 09:00 to 1700, and despite the fact visas are apparently required to cross, there are means around this, as is accurate of many borders.

The original Cambodia gambling halls premiered in Phnom Penh in 1994, but were required to close in the late nineties, leaving just a single gambling den in the capital, the Naga Resort. The Naga, a immobilized boat gambling hall, features one hundred and fifty slots and 60 gaming tables. The Naga river boat never closes with 42 tables of mini-baccarat, four tables of blackjack, 10 of roulette, two of Caribbean Stud Poker, and one each of Pai-Gow and Tai-Sai.

The initial casino in Poipet, the Holiday Palace, opened in 1999 and the Golden Crown quickly opened. A total of 150 slot machine games and five tables at the Golden Crown and 104 slots and sixty eight tables at the Holiday Palace. The newer Holiday Palace Casino and Resort contains three hundred slots and 70 gaming tables and the Princess Hotel and Casino, also in Poipet, has one hundred and sixty six one armed bandits and ninety six gaming tables, including eighty seven baccarat chemin de fer (the most popular game), Fan Tan, and Pai Gow. Additionally, there is the Casino Tropicana, with one hundred and thirty five one armed bandits and sixty six of the normal tables, as well as a single table of Casino Stud Poker. One more of the 8 gambling dens in Poipet, again a part of a inn, is the Princess Casino with one hundred and sixty six slot machine games and 97 table games. The Star Vegas Casino is is located in comprehensive vacation and hotel building that highlights many amenities in addition to the gambling den, which provides 10,000 square feet of one hundred and thirty slots and 88 gaming tables.
